Makita LS1019L: plan the station before buying

The LS1019L is a corded 10-inch dual-bevel sliding compound miter saw with laser. Makita lists a 15-amp direct-drive motor, soft start, electric brake, front bevel lock and two steel slide rails.

Choose for your actual cuts. At zero miter and zero bevel, the manual lists a 2-13/16-inch height × 12-inch width capacity, or 3-5/8 × 11 inches. Angles change capacity. Its listed maximum crown and baseboard capacities require optional crown stoppers and a horizontal vise respectively; those accessories are absent from the standard included-items list.

Plan support and dust collection. At 57.9 pounds, this saw deserves a stable station and support for long stock. Allow room for your cutting angles, workpieces and dust connection before setting a bench depth. A vacuum is sold separately. The electric brake does not replace the blade guard.
